Specific Role: Provide support to NAVAIR, NAWCAD and NAWCWD projects, including the Next Generation Jammer (NGJ) and EA-18G. Provide customer guidance and support with regards to process design and optimization, large data set management, data set manipulation and processing, and engineering support. Leverage expertise as derived from prior relevant combined engineering, applied mathematics, and software development experience to deliver sound and defensible data-driven solutions that contribute to the mission. Communicate effectively the impact of individual and group program contributions to multiple audiences composed of a wide spectrum of technical backgrounds within Government and Industry. Foster and maintain technical collaborations and relationships with Government and Industry teammates.
Education: A BS or postgraduate degree in an engineering or physics discipline from a school where the specified curriculum was accredited by the ABET.
Prefer a degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
Note: BS degrees in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, or any STEM field with an inherent mathematical or statistical element may also be considered.
General Experience Requirements:
a. 5 years of professional engineering experience that has consisted of performing the foregoing engineering functions, and
b. 3 years of the foregoing total experience shall have consisted of performing engineering functions with respect to support, research or development of mechanical, electrical, or aerospace systems.
Specific position description and experience preferences:
a. A mid-level test engineer position, will support the Data Sciences Team
b. Familiarity with analytic and design software to include MATLAB, C++, Java a must.
c. 2+ years’ experience in at least one of the following programming languages in the context of delivering a documented, tested and maintainable software deliverable (MATLAB/Python Preferred): MATLAB/Simulink, Python, Java, C, C++.
d. Background in Electronic Warfare, whether academic, in test or operational preferred.
e. 2-5 years’ experience in an engineering, applied mathematics or computer science related discipline that required use of mathematical methods associated with the description and characterization of both deterministic and stochastic systems (Examples are not limited to the list below). Relevant graduate research may be counted towards the experience requirement.
