PMA-201 Harpoon Missile Senior Systems Engineer

Lexington Park, Maryland
Travel Required: Travel will be required approximately one week per month and will be to locations both domestic and international.

Clearance Required: SECRET

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Education: Position requires a MS or MA degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related scientific discipline.
  • ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: A BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related scientific discipline and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience may be substituted for a MS or MA degree. These four (4) years of experience are in addition to the required minimum of ten (10) years to meet the “Experience” requirements below, therefore, requiring a total of fourteen (14) years of experience.
Experience: Experience: At least ten (10) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position, three (3) of which must be directly related to naval systems. Demonstrated knowledge in area of engineering expertise is required.
Position Description:
  • Experience writing Statements of Work (SOW), conducting technical evaluations, and reviewing CDRLs
  • Understands the Systems Engineering process beyond the requirements phase
  • Ability to use Microsoft Tools and conduct briefings in front of high level people in foreign governments.
  • Develop/document requirements and interfaces, analyze systems and establish processes to manage the successful integration of Harpoon onto ship, truck and aviation platforms
  • Perform engineering reviews and analyses of the Harpoon and its launch systems to determine the optimal approach to incorporate changes, enhancements, planned product improvements and new capabilities
  • Systems integration on an aircraft or ship system a must
  • Experience with obsolescence upgrades helpful as the Harpoon is currently going through an obsolescence update and is only being qualified for the F-15 platform
  • Ensure successful integration of the updated Harpoon onto a truck launch platform
  • Participate in Harpoon engineering efforts related to other launch systems for 3 other countries
  • Rapid Acquisition experience a plus

  • Writing SOW’s
  • Technical reviews of CDRL’s
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a self-starter capable of taking a task and following through with very little supervision
  • Familiar with NAVAIR aircraft weapon systems
  • Experience working with the DoD/DoN preferred
  • Naval aviation operational or acquisition experience desired
