F/A-18 Weapon/Store Separation Engineer

Desired Functions: F/A-18 Weapon/Store Separation Engineer, Senior level. 

This position is organized under the Mission Systems Test and Evaluation Department (MSTED) contract supporting Naval Test Wing Atlantic (NTWL). The department provides the resources for full life cycle test and evaluation of integrated mission and avionics, sensors, electronic warfare, cyber threats, crew systems and system of systems.

The position provides stakeholder recommendations based on platform level integrated functionality and performance testing of embedded/integrated avionics systems and sub-systems, platform and system of system level tactical and control software, interfaces and interoperability of these integrated mission and avionics with affiliated ships, aircraft, mission support devices, and other weapon and combat systems.

The incumbent of this position supports the PMA-265 WSI Team Assistant Program Manager for Systems Engineering (APMSE) as a
Weapon/Store Separation Engineer for the Air Vehicle Engineering Department. The Separation Engineer provides technical assistance
and analysis for integration of F/A-18C/D/E/F/G weapons capability adjacent to new and existing targeting systems. The candidate must
have a good understanding of the aerodynamics and physics associated with both the platform and weapon systems as well as extensive
experience in using Six Degree-of-Freedom (6DOF) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling tools to perform safe and
acceptable separation analysis in accordance with Mil-HDBK-516C.

Education:
A master's degree in an Engineering or related technical field is required.  The master's degree may be waived to a bachelor's degree with six additional years of NAVIAR, NAWCAD engineering experience.

Six years experience performing the engineering functions of the position are required.  Three years NAVAIR, NAWCAD experience.  Three years experience on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program.

Desired three years experience overseeing the efforts of less senior staff and be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.

Salary:
The projected salary range for this position is $165,000-$195,000; however, this is not a guarantee of salary.  Salary will be set based on education, experience and contractual requirements.
