Senior Engineer- Weapons Systems Integration Lead

This senior engineer is responsible for drafting and reviewing Interim and Permanent Flight Clearances for the respective weapons in various configurations for the F/A-18 A-F, EA-18G platform as well as writing Stores Integration Plans, translating Fleet requests into requirements, reviewing and approving NATIP changes with respective weapons, Coordinating and initiating Aircraft/Weapons software updates with AWL China Lake, and all the related SETR events. This person will be working directly with counter-parts in PMA-201 to synergize weapons integration and mitigate risks and issues for the respective integration.  They will be negotiating/coordinating with Technical Area Experts in China Lake and NAVAIR (software, flutter, mass properties, separation, materials, safety etc.), TYCOM, F/A-18 software teams and TMS teams, Joint weapons teams with other services.

(a) Description: Performs tasks with little or no guidance. Has demonstrated knowledge in area of engineering expertise. Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan and design, develop, implement, test or evaluate military weapons systems. Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals and other technical documentation. Applies systems engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management. Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, tests, or evaluates software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, associated support systems. OR; Leads the execution of complex tasks. Applies and integrates engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test or evaluate military weapons systems. Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals and other technical documentation. Applies engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management. Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, tests, or evaluates software related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, associated support systems.
(b) Education: Position requires a MS or MA degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related scientific discipline. ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: A BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related scientific discipline and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience may be substituted for a MS or MA degree. These four (4) years of experience are in addition to the required minimum of ten (10) years to meet the “Experience” requirements below, therefore, requiring a total of fourteen (14) years of experience.
(c) Experience: At least ten (10) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position, three (3) of which must be directly related to naval systems. Demonstrated knowledge in area of engineering expertise is required.
