Education: MA or MS Degree in Engineering, Math or Science.
ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: An additional five (5) years of acquisition or operational logistics management experience may be substituted for a BS or BA degree.
Experience: At least 10 years’ FTE experience in an engineering or logistics position, three (3) of which must be directly related to Naval systems. Demonstrated knowledge in the area of engineering or logistics expertise.
Position Description:
This role requires an experienced NAVAIR Senior Logistics Engineer who can provide guidance and supervision to a logistics team supporting aircraft, weapon systems, training, or SE programs.
Typical responsibilities focus on data analytics and operations research tasks in support of logistics, supportability, reliability, maintainability, and operational readiness analyses. The Sr. Logistics Engineer designs and implements models, databases, and tools aimed at standardizing data analysis. This candidate also compiles and writes documentation of data structure and program development in the use of new systems. This includes investigation areas of interest to Fleet and Program Managers to understand drivers and areas for improvement. Typical areas of focus include Computer Based Maintenance Plus and Readiness Analysis. The Senior Logistics Engineer directs and coordinates program activities designed to provide sub-contractors, management, and customers with logistics technology that ensures effective and economical support concerned for manufacturing or servicing of products, systems, or equipment. Tasks in this area include analysis of contractual commitments, customer specifications, design changes, and other data to plan and develop logistic program activities from conceptual stage through life- cycle of product. (recommendations for tailoring, optimizing, and establishing logistics element requirements in support of aircraft, weapon systems, training, or SE programs based on this analysis.
The selected candidate will provide recommendations for the development of Life Cycle Cost (LCC) and Total Ownership Cost (TOC) Management Plans.
Additionally, the selected candidate will provide recommendations for the review and development of Maintenance Plans and Logistics Support Analysis (MP/LSA) records, maintenance tasks and Level of Repair (LOR) Analysis recommendations.
This position is in direct support to the Air Vehicle and Avionics DAPMLs.
