Acoustics test Flight Test Engineer in support of the P-8A Integrated Test Team
Desired Functions: P-8A Acoustic Test Engineer, Technical Report Editor, Engineer/Computer Scientist/Systems Analyst, Journeyman level.
Testing Engineer/Journeyman Level:
Perform test engineering duties in developing, writing, reviewing, and maintaining aircraft test plans and test reports. This may include developing testing towards specific aircraft/system performance requirements utilizing instrumentation and data collection schemes. Includes the orchestrating the collection of test data, data transformation, data analysis, and reporting of results through briefings and reports. May conduct briefings and discussions towards testing preparation, post flight data/information collection. May recommend improvements in testing equipment and techniques. Possible Functional Descriptions Aerospace, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, Materials, Mechanical Engineers and All Others
Education: Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or related technical field for a scientist is required. Job Related Experience: Three years experience performing the BLS Function Description. Three years NAVAIR, NAWCAD experience.
Other Desired Experience: Three years experience assisting more senior positions performing functional duties of a similar position. A journeyman employee level person typically performs all functional duties independently.
*A related field Master’s Degree may be substituted for 2 years of work experience.
Computer Scientist/Journeymen Level:
Analyze science, engineering, and other data processing problems to develop and implement solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, or network concerns. Perform systems management and integration functions, improve existing computer systems, and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and schedule limitations. May analyze or recommend commercially available software and techniques towards improved data analysis.
System Analyst/Journeymen Level:
Applies knowledge of analytical methodologies, management principles, hardware and software systems structures and operation, and aircraft systems or requirements to solve project problems. Addresses scientific, engineering or business objectives and interfaces with project teams to address project objectives. Independently uses mathematical and Supports approaches to define, plan, organize, design, develop, modify, test, and integrate systems. Directly researches unconventional applications for designing and developing new methodologies, modifications, or adaptations of standardized techniques. Directly develops project plans, guidelines, and controls. May manage and supervise contractor personnel providing this function. Supports overall aircraft test planning and reporting as directed.
