Education: Position requires a BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related scientific discipline.
Experience: At least three (3) years of recent and relevant experience in a position related to the labor category “Description” is required. Demonstrated knowledge in area of engineering expertise is required.
Position Description: ASI support shall be provided primarily to the PMA-263 ISR Services programs. HWIL support shall be provided as required for all PMA-263 UAS platforms that the HWIL provides support for. Basic support is further described in the following sub-sections.
ASI efforts will be focused on supporting the PMA-263 lead Government ship integrator in performing ship installs primarily for the ISR Services IPT UAS platforms. Support shall consist of but not be limited to the following:
· Support the design development and execution of UAS ship installations
· Facilitate the development of courses of actions (COAs), Ship Installation Drawing (SID), and technical, operational and logistical risk analysis and mitigations
· Team and work with MSC/NAVSEA/PY/ship OEM engineering departments on ship installations, repairs etc.
· Develop UAS system view drawings and ad hoc SIDs
· Create Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings
· Support the lead Government ship integrator in his/her development of ship alteration Initial Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs)
· Assist with answering Fleet/OPNAV Requests For Information (RFIs) for UAS support
· Support the generation and revision of Statements of Work (SOWs) and Performance Based Work Specifications (PBWS) for contracting actions
· Support Government Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with their conduct of technical evaluations and program reviews with UAS vendor OEMs
· Assist with the development and execution of OCONUS deliberate and emergency UAS/ship repair plans
· Provide support to underway UAS ship installation “shakedowns”
HWIL support shall consist of but not be limited to the following:
· Assist the HWIL facility lead with his/her overall management of HWIL activities
· Become familiar with the design and operations of all UAS platforms that are being supported by the HWIL
· Support the Government HWIL team in the troubleshooting of UAS platform technical issues
· Provide assistance with efforts to integrate technology onto UAS platforms
· Support the prototyping of hardware required for the successful integration of UAS technology onto UAS platforms
· Perform V&V activities at the component, sub-system, and system levels
· Assist with the development of documentation to support the eventual fielding of system updates such as operations, installation, maintenance, and trouble-shooting manuals
· Support PMA engineering meetings by providing insight into HWIL activities and technical inputs pertaining to supported UAS platforms and integration activities
Skills Required: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively work and collaborate with a team, both internally and with industry partners that are remotely located. Independently motivated and able to produce products and react quickly to a rapid changing, continuously evolving environment. Familiar to ship design and layout of aircraft support requirements. Be experienced with ship underway testing and processes.
